My first chapter is a prologue to some extent. It is necessary to let the reader know why my protagonist is where he is.
I know most people are against using them but they are a very useful tool and should not be discarded just because the majority of authors don't like them.
Tolkien used names of Norse characters for his world. Try looking at some of the other cultures of this world and using their gods and heroes for your names

If using Jupiter, Mars and Venus for example as aspects in your work make it understandable and you feel that they are the right words to use. I do not think your readers will think that you have just copied our solar system. It all depends on how you present them in your world.

I have a small problem that I would appreciate help with. I have tried to find out what creatures are fire elementals and the only ones I can find are salamanders and phoenixes. Is that all there are? Or are there others that I have been too dumb to find?

An original tsunami followed by frequent minor tsunamis that have destroyed all the arable land. The inland area is a permanent boggy morass that no one is interested in farming.
I do use chapter titles but they are mainly for me. I have them listed so if I need to check on a fact or spelling of a characters name I know where to look. For me it saves trawling through hand written notes and un-named chapters.
