    Binding Life Forces

Sorry everyone for taking so long to get back to this - I've been in and out of surgery pretty much all year. But I'm better now. That said - Thank you everyone for your input. So I take it - if they're bound - kill them. Got it.

    Binding Life Forces

In my current WIP, I have a charcter (a Demon, to be exact) that has the ability to bind lives to her. I have it worked out so that it requires two things really - Consent and obviously a blood exchange. Her blood being the more dominant binds the "weaker" life to her so they live for as long as...

Where Did You Get Your Handle?

Meg the Healer was a famous healer of the Highlands. So famous were her healing powers even the local Faery folk called upon her when faced with illnesses for which they could not cure. She was one of the very few humans ever allowed to walk freely into the realm of Faery and back again. Meg...

    Night?

I would think you could use Dusk. But I don't know if that is considered too much of a synonym of Evening. Though, unless Noon is time specific to your novel, then I would just use morning, midday, and evening (leave out noon and the twilight equivalent).

    How important are surnames?

That's a fair point. I just seemed to notice this as well. With some exceptions - there seems to be a lot of calling people by the first name in Modern America and last names in Modern Britain. Maybe this is why I was wondering how important last names really are. And you were pretty close to...

    How important are surnames?

Now that I can finally spell important without putting a "t" in front of the "n" twelve times...... I've just kinda realized that I don't really have anyone with a last name - with the exception of my male MC - which is Thomas Bane. Does this even matter? Of course I don't have a lot of "of...

    Un-Naming

I was actually thinking about wiping the memories from her and "everything else" that happened to her. But like all good stories, I also like the - you seem familiar to me and I know I used to trust you, but me as I am now don't know if I should - attitudes. As a lot of my novel as even me...

    What is this called?

I honestly don't know if there is a specific word for it other than series. Just like Discworld and Dragonlance - they all have different books but they are apart of the same series. (Also true of Left Behind and Sookie Stackhouse). I think when you get to be above 3-4 books it becomes part of a...

    Un-Naming

Thanks everyone. You've given me some new insights and some new questions. Of course, now I thought I something else and I think I'm just being slightly unfocused, however..... What about this concept - my MC has led an awful life due to the role she would play in the death of the Gods. Since...

    Which Witch

I was actually go to suggest that as in the Pagan world there are considered many types of witches but anyone can become a witch. There are some that are hereditary witches and some that find a coven or becaome Solitary witches. But all of them (hereditary or non) have a ritual to go thru before...

need a name for a town

I don't know - down here in the South, we have some very interesting names for cities in Alabama. My favorite city names here are Slapout, Opp, Waugh, and Sylacauga. The story beyond Slapout, Alabama was there was an old Mom and Pop place that is pretty much like the general store. Any time...

    Un-Naming

That's one of the things I am considering as well. The character I would have this done to played a "huge" part in the war that is started and later became a blood-traitor. He's spent the last 10,000 years trying redeem his actions and the role he played in the start of the war. But because...

    Un-Naming

So, I've been kicking an idea around for a while in the latest rendition/rewrite of my current novel about what I call "The Un-naming." To un-name someone (in my world) is to erase their existence and destroy their soul. The past, present, and future are gone but the Nameless one doesn't die...

Skyrim - tell us about your character

Currently I am playing thru as a Wood Elf named Amarice. She's got short red hair and a dramatic scar across her left eye - both of which are white. She also has a tattoo on her face. Her primary weapon is a non-magical bow. Close combat she'll either wield dual axes or an axe and shield. Thus...

    Unlimited Quests in Skyrim

This just made my day. I'm so glad that they've gone back to that. They had that in Daggerfall (even though it was more time-based; which I hated). It was one of the aspects I didn't like in Obilivion - that once you did the final quest, you were done. That sorta sucked (even though with the DB...
