    Rogue One (spoilers)

Took the family today. One good thing about -20 F/-28 C, it's far less crowded in the theater. We enjoyed it. Only gripe for us was the screen was very dark. It was difficult to see the actors faces. My eyes feel like sand from straining to see.

On Being Too Young (Naive, Inexperienced, Immature, etc.)

It's hard to put rough drafts on the shelf, but in time you won't even remember writing them. It's awesome that you're writing at all. The fact that you're actively writing and seeking advice at such a young age means you have the potential to only get better at everything, including real...

    Star Trek Beyond

Well, Stringer Bell is revealed as the bad guy...it all makes sense now, ... not. I have absolutely no idea what this movie is about. Every scene is pure confusion.

    Star Trek Beyond

I'm watching Star Trek Beyond at this moment, Um... WTF? Has anybody else seen this? I can't describe my disappointment.

Where did your username come from?

Mine Own King = Caliban This island’s mine, by Sycorax my mother, Which thou takest from me. When thou camest first, Thou strok’st me and made much of me, wouldst give me Water with berries in ’t, and teach me how To name the bigger light, and how the less, That burn by day and night. And then...

Avoiding cliched elves and genre crossovers in a Fantasy Project.

Well, isn't the Silmarillion omniscient? I never thought of it as one character's POV. Beren was saved by Lúthien so I would say her character is at least more interesting. She was created with Tolkien's wife in mind so I would think from the author's perspective she was the center piece...

Avoiding cliched elves and genre crossovers in a Fantasy Project.

Wouldn't Lúthien be considered more important? She defeated Sauron and lulled Melkor to sleep.

    What are you Reading Now?

I'm reading 'The Treemakers.' Starts strong. I'm on chapter 20. Excellent world building; an endearing MC. Right now I'm torn. So many details I want explained. I'm noticing inconsistencies in characters' reactions to death. Not digging the tense but glued to my seat. This book gets in...

    Spoiler-Fest: Game of Thrones S6

Yes! I did pick up on it before when Charles Dance played Tywin Lannister, but he was in so many scenes I didn't realize the night and day quality of acting. Jonathan Pryce has great presence as the High Sparrow, but he plays a soft spoken character often in the shadows. That's a strong...

    Spoiler-Fest: Game of Thrones S6

I liked this one. I did get the vibe that the story isn't going to end anytime soon. I'm surprised by that. I thought we were heading for a wrap up. Now it looks like many more seasons. I think I would lose interest if they choose to drag it out. I like an epic but...throw the ring in the...

    Spoiler-Fest: Game of Thrones S6

I enjoyed this episode best. In fact, there was nothing I didn't like. It flowed well and had an epic feel to it. It was more like a movie and less like a soap opera. Cinematic and sweeping. Loved it.

Warning, Updating to Windows 10 causes serious issues with Hotmail. I'm dealing with 2 years of lost emails, Junk mail mixed in with normal mail. It's a nightmare.

    Spoiler-Fest: Game of Thrones S6

I'm confused why we didn't get to find out more about Jon's mother. We had that cool sword battle leading up to it, then everything just fizzled. Extremely annoying.
