My worlds aren't that deep because I'm hoping to introduce 12-16 year olds to Sci-Fi in something that's easy to read. I remember when I was younger The Hobbit and Lord of the Ring series just seemed too involved to try.

Isn't the onus on advertising on the publisher rather than the author when it's not self-published? I have this vision of me going from bookstore to bookstore, kind of like a vacuum cleaner salesman, if I decide to self-publish.

My uncle has told everyone in the family that he will be happy to pay to publish my book when it's done. Putting aside the pressure this causes, is this a good idea? Am I selfish to want to try to get it published for real first? I'd like to have him hire me an agent instead but thought I'd get...

I'm Monty. I'm currently writing a tween Sci-Fi book. It started as a small story and has morphed into something bigger-always something an author wants, right? Now it's consuming my life so I thought I'd poke my head out to get others input. Glad to be here!
