    Best Discworld books?

It may just be that you're not a fan of Pratchett's style. Not everyone likes "Brit" humor (Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker series comes to mind, as well as almost everything P.G. Wodehouse wrote). I happen to love it, and have been slowly working my way through the Discworld books in chronological...

    Question concerning dialogue

Weirdly, the "uhs" are making me wonder if the character is lying. I frequently see "uh" used this way - to indicate a pause while the character is formulating what they're going to say next. When the "uhs" are coupled with ellipses (which generally indicate a trailing off rather than an...

    November NaNoWriMo 2016

I've done NaNo in the past, but I'm not going to be participating this year - my November is going to be extremely busy and I know I won't have the time, even if I had a project ready to go. But I'll be cheering others from the sidelines!

    What are you Reading Now?

Took a break from fantasy and read True Grit and The Girl on the Train last month. Switched back to Pratchett this week and am in the middle of The Truth.

    What are you Reading Now?

Working my way through the Discworld series. I know I don't have to go through it chronologically by publication, but that's what I'm doing. I'm particularly fond of Rincewind, Granny Weatherwax and Sam Vimes. Right now I'm reading The Last Continent.

How did you discover Mythic Scribes?

I followed a link on a tweet, and found myself here. Originally I was just reading the site's articles, but then I discovered the forum.

Where did your username come from?

I'm mrsmig practically everywhere I go. It's even on my license plate! It has no special significance in the world of fantasy - just a nickname.

    Howdy

I followed a link on Twitter to this website and thought it looked like a neat place. Looking forward to prowling around and getting to know everyone. I've been writing fantasy for some years and finally sold the first two books in my series last month. Publication is a year off, so I won't...
