I began writing when I was 9 years old. It was an animal story, of course, because that was my passion back then. As I explored writing, I also explored my family history and found it rich with lore, fallen kingdoms, spiritual encounters, and migrations from one land to another. Writing became a need as each story asked to be told. My journey to tell these stories started with writing and led me to complete my BA in English and Creative Writing, then to pursue my MFA in Creative writing. Outside of writing I enjoy life as a mother to two boys as adventurous as I am and in dog sports with my wild crew of Australian Shepherds.
