Some authors do a horrible job of summarizing. In a series, the further you get into a series, the more stuff they feel the need to summarize. It gets harder to resist skipping ahead, past all those words.
I try to always add something new to a summary. Some bit of useful information or fact.
This is a good idea! :)
But, as SaltyDog said, sugar cane is the easiest means of getting sugar. Sugar cane grows wild in the humid, near tropical conditions of the American South, South-East. It grows naturally near water and can be used in many survival type situations. Cane breaks are, I...
If you haven't seen this show this post won't make much sense. But the show "The Walking Dead" has had a number of intriguing villains. The show really delves into the characters, their personalities and how living in s post apocalyptic world changes them. They've had several villains, like the...
This was what I was going to suggest :) I've read several books where the world is introduced gradually, while the story is being told. This might make the process easier for you? As you tell the story, just make notes on the world as it develops?
Hiya! I saw your post and wondered if you had any links to info on making bows? I'd like to make a bow, but with tons of sites, it's hard to know which to trust, if you know what I mean.
Thanks!
Lol, good name choice! A friend of mine moved to NJ, to work in NY. But he ended up working at a NJ hospital. It's funny because we joke about him living there now. The whole Jerseydevil thing is pretty crazy. I've seen a few shows about the legend.
Lol, my username has an interesting story behind it. And no, it's not a reference to the Viking show character!
Long ago, I heard about a game being developed called Dawn. The concept fascinated me and I begin hanging out on related IRC channels and posting on forums. For those who aren't...
Definitely! Every oppressive regime seeks to disarm its population. An armed citizenry is like a dagger at the throat of a tyrant. This process could be good material for storytelling. That and the whole underground resistance make for good stories (IMO).
I haven't really written about elves, or dealt with them much. But, I've spent years playing D&D when I was younger as well as read all sorts of books with them.
What I think is that with their longevity, and their aloofness, unless they live near humans, everything about them would be...
Well, depending on how the empire treats its citizens, to confront a threat, especially an internal threat, they would begin by starting things like curfews, checkpoints at entrances and exits to cities and even regions, along well traveled roads or even waterways. They would suspend activities...
I totally agree. It's fine if they allow the characters to fail when trying to do common survival tasks, like building a shelter, hunting etc... But when they are experts despite having no skills, it's annoying! Characters that become masters at combat without ever holding a sword or other...
Wow, this would make for an interesting, and really bizarre world, haha. The way the magic works reminds me of something I saw in a game, where the magic has a radius and alters the surrounding life forms. It sounds really fascinating actually ;)
It looks pretty cool. I'll give it a try :) . I like these sorts of games, where resources combine with political decisions and battles are fought with more the just "heroes". Black in the late '80's I used to love the Koei game Genghis Khan. For a SNES game, it was really complex and you had to...
