The two hemispheres interpreting magic differently is the part I’d lean into. I’d be curious what each side gets completely wrong about the other before they meet - especially if both versions sound perfectly reasonable at home.

I like that the shared alphabet hints at history without anyone having to stop and explain that history. Also, 300 words is well past “dipping a toe in.” The language has taken the beach.
