How to get back your spark?

I must really thank everyone for the wonderful advice. It just goes to show how great the community is around here. Wise words from every indeed and I will definitely be following much of the advice offered here. I'm truly indebted to all of you. Sorry if I sound a bit rushed, but I can't...

How to get back your spark?

I've been very inactive when it comes to this forum and with writing in general. I still dream of being a writer, but I just can't seem to get motivated anymore. Has anyone else ever gone through this? I still get ideas and think up stories, however I just don't have the urge to follow them...

Which Game of thrones family do you connect with and use your family motto.

"Our Blades are Sharp." House Bolton, because I find them quite threatening and menacing. Roose Bolton is one of the most memorable villains from the entire series IMHO.

    Stuck on a Name

Ahem :wavespin: I really like the sound of Cabalists, just sounds so sinister and menacing. However, do not get stressed over a name as any would probably fit. Paladin just seems out of place in my opinion. Templars could work, but I think that conjures up the wrong image to the reader...

    Hobbit lives up to expectations

So excited. December 14th is my birthday so I'll probably see it on the weekend.

What do you want to be Besides an Author?

I want to be involved in politics somehow. My dream job would be a US Senator.

Does this sound like a plausible/interesting plot to you?

Sounds very interesting and plausible. I like the idea of demi-god crime lord. But, be sure to have Kore prepare for the inevitable betrayal as you have said that she can see it coming.

    Star Wars Style Prologue?

Keep it at about a page and it would work. It's a cool way to get the read to know what they need to know to understand the story.

    Re-Using a Popular Term

Don't worry about. Most normal people probably wouldn't even care.

    boxing terminology in fight scenes

I used to box and spar with a few people. Telegraphing is a pretty good term that means you see the punch coming before it's thrown. A jab, a hook, and an uppercut are all boxing strikes.

    Your Preferred Sub-Genre

Dark fantasy/gritty fantasy. The heroes die, sometimes before they can complete their quests. Some heroes turn out evil and others make great sacrifices to try to stem the tide of darkness. Very tragic and depressing ending.

A few musings on switching POV

George RR Martin is one of the greatest fantasy writers of all time. If you think A Song of Ice and Fire is overrated you probably haven't even read it or you just don't like gritty fantasy. You can re-read any of his books (in ASOIAF) a dozen times and I can almost guarantee that you'll find...

    Fighting against depression

When I get depressed I usually just go to bed and sleep. But, sometimes I workout because that automatically makes you happier. Or I'll just got hit the punching bag a few times or find someone that wants to box.

Thank you. That list is phenomenal.

Who would read you a story?

    Morgan Freeman. He's awesome.
