    Writer's Tools

Google Drive Yes, I find it severely valuable with editing and keeping my novel with me at all times. Also now that I have my beautiful new imac I use pages. The formatting is so much nicer than word, but very similar in function. Sometimes esthetics can go a long way to making you productive.

    Tell, Don't Show

Show tell etcetc It is more effective to show and leave to interpretation. BUT there is more than show or tell. Tell: Beth was depressed and sad. If your reader disagrees based on context you become a narrator who isn't trusted. Show: Beth slumped against the wall and lowered her head. Her...

    Chapters by Day

Doing it by day is not a good idea. You end up adding in things because it happened in that day or you want to keep this feeling that a day passed. In fact 10 of my chapters is in 2 days. Think of your book like a "Movie", how does a movie handle transitions. REMOVE the word chapter and put...

    Author Marketing

I agree, but if you sudden;y have a new blog when you book comes out--that definitely hurts you. I'm not expecting it to do anything now except to maybe use some info I know to help.

    Author Marketing

Yes its all relatively new. The definition is gone, it was a placeholder until i wrote an article. The offset of the sidebars is on purpose. Still a few things need to be adjusted and it will feel better. I agree with removing some of the share links, thanks. This is the beginning of a market...

    Accepting the Unacceptable?

It's quite possible that a dragon could have argon or a heavy gas in its hollow bones. The pressure pushing out if it is the same as the air pressure pushing in--it should strengthen the bone. OR maybe they're bones are made of something light and strong like a spider web material--thats...

    Dragonslaying

LMAO HAHAHAHA That would work for Slug Dragons too. Very creative, you could have had them fight near the sea and get trapped in salt water. Very creative, I love it.

Reader vs Beta Reader and Preconceived Notions About Nobility

Unless you are pushing the reader into belief of a Realism Fantasy story - e.g. A Knights Tale, historically pretty accurate, but fantasy fairy tale storyline -- its fine. If the author is making a point that its Earth at a certain time, then breaking convention can be jaring. Typically in...
