    Fantasy + Humor

Depends on the kind of humour you're after to be honest. Prachett's hilarious, but I personally have to throw in a recommendation for Joe Abercrombie and Mark Lawrence. Although on the darker side, almost all of Abercrombie's books have had me cackling at some point or another, and Lawrence's...

    Flintlock Fantasy

Hey guys, I recently picked up Promise of Blood by Brian McClellan, and I wasnt too sure what to think, or if it was a good idea. But after finishing it up, I can safely say that it was a good buy. With an inovative magic system, memorable characters and an interesting world, I was quite taken...

    Total War Warhammer

If I'm completely honest, I haven't much enjoyed Greenskins so far. Vampire Counts however is ubelievably fun. Who doesn't want to rip Empire Swordsmen apart with a huge bloody Terrorgheist??

Captain America: Civil War (spoilers, bruv)

Couldn't agree more. The film was absolutely amazing. Personal favourite bit would have to be the freeze frame of Cap fighting Iron Man, his hand blaster thingy's (Technical name escapes me) bouncing off his shield. An image practically taken straight from the comic-book source material...

    Movie or Mini-series?

Personally, I think that films can never be long enough to tell the story of a book. Bits will always be missed out and fans will always bitch about how bits have been missed. I myself am definitely guilty of this. I rant about how different GoT season 5 was to the books and how much certain...

    Alexia says hi to you!

Welcome to our brilliant world Alexandria. I'm sure you'll get along just fine amongst us. And your story sounds brilliant. As a Celtic lover of Vikings myself, I'd defos read that. Good luck :)

Does anyone else wish they could read about more redeemed villains?

Joe Abercrombie, The First Law trilogy. Sand Dan Glokta could be seen to go on a bit of a redemption character arc. If you consider him evil in the first place.

Which movies do you want to see?

Hmmm.... Series: Star Wars: Republic Commando Author: Karen Traviss Rating: Hmm... 15 (R) And of course, Every Joe Abercrombie book, but especially The Heroes, as it could be done in a very 300 style. Hell, The Heroes could even be done in a 5 part special for BBC or Sky. I think it'd...

What exactly is wrong with swearing?

I don't know... Maybe it's just my upbringing, or where I grew up (Glasgow, Scotland, notorious for it's language) but swearing has never really offended me. And I do use it quite regularly. Although, I just feel that some words should be used in certain situations. swearing may not be...

    Zombie stories. Are they dead?

So, excuse the totally intentional pun of a title. In TV and games, these reanimated corpses seem to be doing very well. The Walking Dead is breaking it's viewing records again and again. The comics are also still going strong (if not getting even better). Ever year we seem to be getting at...

    Seat-of-the-pants or outline writing?

Oh I used to be an absolute Pantser. Like honestly. I used to be horrible for just rambling in my writings and getting places with it. Until I realised that it was like a big turd sprinkled with little bits of glitter. A whole load of crap words stuck together with a few little bits that...

    GoT book/show confusion

Just to add my opinion, I totally understand that there's no way that a show can follow the intense and complex storylines of the books, and that's not a jab at the average viewer (god knows I am one sometimes). It's just that there is SO much put into the books that they could never include it...

Half A War alt cover? Shattered Sea series - Joe Abercrombie

It's really just up to you, but I have to say that Half a War is the best of the three books. Without a doubt. So even if you do decide to wait, know that the wait will be well worth it for such a good book.

Half A War alt cover? Shattered Sea series - Joe Abercrombie

As far as I'm aware, I don't think it's been published in that cover just yet. In fact I'm not even sure it's in paperback yet. I know that the one's your looking for are the paperback covers.
