Thank you so very much I think I now know what my problem has been all along. I never really got far into the book before BAM something happens, I guess I've never gotten them to know the character.
The names of my characters usually always go with the character so say for example; Kou means Night rain so I would probably use that name for a character who was born in the night, or to describe how naive she is.
I have to agree with Mythopoet, there is no real answer to it. What I would do is aim for a certain group of people. eg; girls, boys, adults, teens, children, elderly.
