So far, unpublished. My current work in progress, the Adventures of the Last Aygiff (ALA), is an adventure/fantasy series. One book is written and relatively well edited, and am currently working on the second book. I would still like to have more feedback on the first book before pursuing traditional publishing - if possible.
ALA is a fantasy series based in a novel world-building background with original races and a magic system called "essence." The names of the races and characters, as well as the location names, are all deeply entrenched in meaning - based around different ancient cultures such as ancient egyptian, akkadian, babylonian, phoenician, as well as some not-as-ancient cultures but ones with long histories - such as apache, korean, german, and irish.
Personally, I am a math teacher with an undergraduate degree in history and a masters in psychology. I currently teach 6th grade, but have taught up to sophomores in high school geometry in the past. I dabble in theology, apologetics, and philosophy in my free time on occasion, and enjoy reading up on scientific theory every now and again. I love riddles and games and love a good story.
For me, the moral of the story is the most foundational and important part of story-telling. If the message isn't great, no matter how well written or exciting it is, the story value will plummet. At least, that's my take on it. Looking forward to possibly reading your material and hope you drop in and help me with my work in progresses.
