    Critique Partners?

So sorry it took so long to reply. I'm about to start a new job, so I'm hesitant, not knowing the time restraints it may have on me, but I would like to try 10,000 words a week. I think you provided your personal email in the pm, so I can send you an email and go from there.

Which is the correct way to write this sentence(s)?

I do not think A is wrong. It does not imply the scars are already glowing or independent. The reason I don't see it that way is because it's immediate. Her eyes close, scars glow - it's near simultaneous. Mentioning two descriptive items does not necessitate them being independent of each...

Political Correct Term for Different Intelligent Beings

I would say these arguments are pitfalls of general tropes, not necessarily an argument against the use of race. In fact most if not all of these points can still occur without the use of the word race. That aside, those are good points that all authors should be wary of.

Political Correct Term for Different Intelligent Beings

Truly, there is no Need for much of anything. There is always a different way of saying something - a different way of telling something - a different way of writing something - a different way to illustrate something. Even a story, plot line, concept, motif, etc. can be changed, altered, spun...

    Critique Partners?

Anyone willing to help me with my WIP? I am a fan of quid pro quo and am willing to critique in return. I've posted one item in the critique request section and after almost a week, not a single person has commented on it... it's a fantasy novel series. I am posting chapters from my first...

Political Correct Term for Different Intelligent Beings

Questioning everything is a relatively good motto, though it is usually very difficult to determine if someone else has questioned their use of a term and whether they see it as, perhaps not directly necessary though perhaps they have, but in the least the most profitable, beneficial, or...

Political Correct Term for Different Intelligent Beings

Political Correct Term for Different Intelligent Beings

I'm wondering if our culture hasn't blurred the line between human and person in this instance. There is actually a denotive difference. In fact, (I find it abhorrent, but that's politics...) abortion is legal in America due to the argument that the fetus is not a person. The courts recognize...

    New to site

.... do people do much critiquing of other's work here? I posted about four days ago... not a single person has helped me in the critique section. Plenty of replies in the general discussion, but nadda in the critique request section....

    Chapter 1 Part 3

“And, Ku’Aya.” Semiramis turned to face her. “It sounds like it wasn’t really a big deal to you. Were you just trying to get your older brother in trouble?” “It’s Ku,” she murmured. “And he’s not my brother.” Semiramis raised an eyebrow. “Excuse me?” There was that tone again. She could be...

    Chapter 1 Part 2

I would have lost myself to my memories again if Ku hadn’t brought me back. “You coming?” she asked. Spinning around, I found she had that amused grin on her face once more. I took my garb off and grinned back at her. She turned toward the forest, blushing. Jogging forward, I threw my garb...

    Chapter 1 Part 1

I stood before the great Stavis tree. My instincts told me it was the father of the forest. Ku’Aya was grinning at me again, but I didn’t look over at her. She had always been a strange one. As an Aelacrin, Ku was just about average. Her green skin was still a little pale for her age, and the...

    Adventures of the Last Aygiff

A fantasy/adventure novel series written for young adult audience (particularly middle school on up). Originally wrote it as something a friend's daughter would like to read, but also wish it to be something my nephews can read when they become pre-teen/teenagers. The story follows a teenager...

World of ALA (Adventures of the Last Aygiff)

thanks for your honesty. You're the first person to voice that. I appreciate your honesty. Though i'm wondering, is it any more strange than the other words I came up with for the other races? Ex. L'entia, scyphozome, neulahdian, vaelintry.
