There are certainly subgenre's of fantasy, just like Metal music for example. Some people love death metal but hate black metal, its simply a matter of finding your favorite subgenre, while appreciating the others for what they are. Not good or bad by any means, just by preference.

What would the medieval hierarchy be for soldiers, knights, captains? ect... Kind of like modern day equivalent to privates, sergeants, commanders ext, but for old times. Top to bottom in a list if possible.
Does anyone have a list of rankings from a medieval time periods, or something similar? Modern day rankings aren't as relevant to the fantasy story uses.
I start with an image in my mind, then give it a name. next the class and powers, then how the character became that class/personality. backstory and motivation next. then role in the story. why is this character important, why do we care , like or dislike?

Hunger games fans, get on netflix and watch Battle Royal. it's better than Hunger games in every way. and was done years before the hunger books were even written. the author said she hadnt seen Battle Royal before writing the hunger books, but I have serious doubts about that.
