What Do You Think of This Plot?

I am actually planning on making Eamon and the Queen distant relatives in order to represent why both he and the Queen can use it. And thanks for the first tip. I'll make sure to add some sort of danger to it. Like every time it cuts a substance a negative effect happens. Thanks for the...

What Do You Like As a Reader?

    1. Do you like humorous fantasy or serious fantasy?- More on the serious side but a few simple jokes don't hurt. 2. Do you like more descriptive writing or a more minimalist style?- Descriptive. I.e. the landscape, room, carriage, etc. but not so excessive that I just want to hear the...

What Do You Think of This Plot?

I've never heard of polygamy in my life. I had no idea what it meant. I'll change that! Hahaha and thanks for the tips!

Creating A Antagonist Who Believes They Are Doing Good?

For my plot, the antagonist in a queen who wants to free the universe from its boundaries by uniting the billions of worlds. She honestly believes she is doing good for creation when, in reality, the protagonist knows it would cause trillions of deaths. How can I make the queen realistic? How...

What Do You Think of This Plot?

If you've read the series "His Dark Materials" Philip Pullman did a wonderful job at keeping the power of the Subtle Knife to a very appropriate level. Hopefully, I can do the same. I see your worry though.

    Top 10 Stereotypes in Fantasy?

    1. The "Chosen One". Very annoying. 2. Worlds where technology never advances, even after thousands of years. 3. Horses used like cars. 4. Everyone speaks the same language. 5. Stolden races from LOTR (i.e. elves, dwarves, goblins, etc.) 6. Point-and-shoot magic. 7. The unexperienced...

What Do You Think of This Plot?

Hi, I'm a 12 year-old boy who loves writing-especially fantasy. I had created this plot but before I begin writing-what do you think of it? Feedback?: Eamon is in possession of two of the most powerful objects in the universe- the Apherious Bow and the Polygamy Knife. They are capable of...

    Depicting Evil

To avoid cliche, you must not just clothe your villain in black, have him/her kill innocent people that simply brought a bad message, and give him/her an evil laugh. You must give him different moral standards. You must take time when developing your antagonist, because without them, there is...

How do you *spark* your ideas, and creat your stories?

I like to create my world first. Afterwards, I usually develop my plot.

    Naming a Fantasy World

I don't think it's a good idea to name your world. Is our world named? No. We have continents, countries, cities, etc. and that's all there needs to be in a fantasy world.

    How deep are your worlds?

Readers like when they see you put a lot of work into creating your world. I think you should read at least one book from The Watergivers Series by Glenda Larke. She did an amazing job at creating a fantasy world.

    Fantasy Names

I usually go to Google Translate and type in something about my character and translating it to another language and use that. I usually use Latin.

How much magic is too much magic?

It always depends on the story. It is completely reasonable to have everyone have magical abilities, but this can make the story blander by eliminating that "coolness" of having magical abilities. Your concept is unique though-use it.
