Fun with Scammers!

The next Star Wars, as in the success level of Episode IV. Toys included, heh heh.

I feel invisible. No scammer wants to talk to me...

Well okay, I get a couple of emails every now and then. But nothing this fancy or elaborate. Mine just quote my blurb back at me and pretend that means they've read and liked it. I want fancy scammers too, who pretend they like my book and put in some research. You know, have them put in some work and effort. It would make me feel better for ignoring them.

I have watched some of Jenna Moreci's content. It didn't really strike the right note for me. I remember it feeling a bit to generic and aimed at romance. I've only seen reviews of her books, haven't read them. But those reviews were pretty harsh, so I also felt no need to read them.

Demesnedenoir not sure if there's that much money left in Star Wars at the moment. Disney seems to not understand what to do with it somehow. Which is surprising, since it's one of those IP's where even getting it vaguely right (like with the Mandalorian) would be good enough to rake in money.

As a side note A. E. Lowan be aware that you just posted your email address visible for all to see in those screenshots. Though I don't think most scammers would search for text inside images, it is something to be aware of.

Side note: Because of these AI emails, I did almost skip contact from a real living bonafide agent recently until I realized that it was a guy I'd spoken to in person.

I think I've been contacted by an AI someone from every mid-level and up publisher in the business in the last year or so, LMAO.

Thank you very much for the head's up. This is the email we want people to have, so we're okay. It's the ones who are enterprising enough to go fishing that find me and mine. Most of the time that's fine. We can pass along the easier ways to find us, and how to follow us on our social media. And the ones who aren't fine will find us all the faster. Being a woman on the internet isn't terribly pretty. And even then, we're still at a state of popularity where most of the worst is still yet to come.

We did have an issue when Faerie Rising came out. Our writing partner/baby sister was about 22 - I'm terrible with ages and names - and that was our first year at our home con. And somebody found her picture from the event and started sending her messages. And if I'd been able to find him, this story would become abruptly shorter.

I don't play.
