Although Blood Sword is part of a series, it was written to stand alone. That said, most people, however, like to start with Flank Hawk since it is the first novel in the series.

So far, I like it You have a good writing style and strong dialogue. I'm trying to read up on more RPG stories. Turns out I really enjoy role-playing stuff.

LitRPG is a pretty hot subgenre of fantasy & SF. There's a wide variety of stories out there. My Monsters, Maces and Magic series is not what is called 'crunchy' with a lot of numbers, game notifications, etc. It's LitRPG 'Light' or 'Lite', meaning there are game elements, and progression, but less reliance on the repeated use of numbers and notifications in the story telling process (that's a short explanation).

If you enjoy RPGs and writing, it might be an opportunity for you.
