Hello Everyone, my name is Robert. I have been searching for a writing forum to join for a little while now and I am hoping this is the place for me. My biggest problem has always been consistency, I can get on a role writing every day for a week or two but eventually it comes to a stop and then I sit around thinking more about writing than actually doing it. I prefer short stories and novellas over novels

Have you ever done NaNoWriMo? During the month of November, thousands of people across the world challenge themselves to write a 50,000 word novel in one month. I like using that month to really push myself to write as much as I can in one month. It's a great challenge, especially if you want to reach more than 50, 000 words. If you cannot keep writing consistently, maybe this could be a fun and challenging way to keep writing every day.

Yes, sometimes it can be a stuggle keeping a head of steam moving forward. Hang in there and ignore the distractions.

Thank you both for the welcomes. I haven't ever actually tried NaNoWriMo though Ive told myself I would the last few years, Novemeber always seems to be an extremely hectic month for me. This year hopefully

Welcome man, might I suggest though, you just write. Instead of thinking what will come next and planning to the point where you don't write anything, perhaps you should try just writing and letting your characters do what their natures would actually have them do.
Just a thought.
