They are fun to write about. I've decided not to make them small, even though much contemporary writing keeps them as little people. There's also a long tradition that suggests that they are the same size as people.

Yes, I agree, or rather historically they are a variety of sizes, some humanoid, others tiny. I’ve read a few fantasy books with human-like fairy or fae.
