The United Solar Republic (AKA The USR, The Human Empire, Sol government, *insert slur for humans* tribe, etc.) is the primary governing body and military force of the Human species, and here's their info, will add more via replies later
CAPITAL: New York, Earth, Sol system
GOVERNMENT: The USR is a colonial representative democracy, where members elect and send their representatives to, well, represent them in the Senate. the USR has 4 branches, The Executive, Legislative, Judicial, and Civil Branches
ECONOMY: Part Socialist-Part Capitalist, The USR has a mostly hands-off approach when it comes to certain industries (I.E clothing and toy industry), so long as they follow some regulations, such as worker's rights and quality control, but has nationalized almost all agricultural, residential, electrical, shipbuilding, logistical, and water industries, where it's distributed to all citizens, providing a "Basic standard of living" for all (or, at least most) 46 billion citizens living in the USR, free enterprise is not only allowed but greatly encouraged
MILITARY:
The USR armed forces are big, after public services, the USRM is the biggest budget eater. It is divided into 4 Corps
NAVY: The Astral navy, responsible for all in-space offensive/defensive actions, if you need to get grunts on the ground or bombard a planet from Orbit, you call them
ARMY: The ground forces, if you need a guy with a gun or need to secure a planet, you call them
SPACE MARINES: like the standard army but better trained and more specialized, If you want to cripple an enemy outpost with a small force or assassinate a leader, you call them
SPACE GAURD: the Astral Navy but for strictly civil assistance, such as anti-pirate ops or rescue ops, if you're stranded in space or being attacked by pirates, you call them.
IDEOLOGY:
Frontierism: a belief that humanity must expand out to the furthest it can and settle to maintain its civilization, ethically of course, if a planet or moon already has a civilization, then you leave them alone.
Strength through Differences: Humanity has a long history of killing each other over minor differences in ideas, but then they flipped it on its head, the differences of each human add a different perspective to the other, which makes the whole adaptable to most situations present
Human Exceptionalism: Humanity is special, on average, compared to other species, humans are more adaptable and more resistant to adverse conditions, this leads to the belief that Humanity is special enough to be the best for controlling the milky way galaxy. (CONSIDERED EXTREME AND PROBLEMATIC)
HISTORY:
The beginnings of the USR can be traced back to the early 20th century, when the then nations of France, the United States of America, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republic, the United Kingdom, the Chinese Republic, and other Earth states formed the United Nations after a great war against a force of tyranny and fascism, as Earth grew into a more connected civilization, more and more members joined, at this point, the UN was more of an allyship between all states of Earth, until 2078, when the greats floods started
The great floods, caused by centuries of neglect by world powers to a growing climate crisis and rapid industrialization, lead to Earth's polar Ice caps melting almost completely, dumping billions of tons of water into earth's already mostly ocean surface, raising sea levels, so in an effort to combat it, nations started pooling resources and gave up full autonomy to the UN.
At the same time, an effort to colonize Mars was occurring, mostly by rich billionaires and their unwilling employees, as an escape from the problems their industries and businesses caused; They began terraformation efforts and attempted multiple times to succeed from Earth, but most of the time it was unsuccessful, until 2234, then the UN and it's martian colony started the First Interplanetary War, ending the lives of billions and leading to Martian independence.
As the years went on, the Martian Plutocracy and the United Nations of Earth fought over small territory disputes in the outer solar system, colonizing most of Jupiter and Satun's moons, the asteroid belt, a few of Uranus' moons, and one moon of Neptune, a skirmish in 2405 over Enceledus sparked the second interplanetary war, which lasted for over 20 years
Then comes the Flotsam, a group of wrecked advanced alien spacecraft on an interstellar trajectory that intercepted the Sun's gravity well and had it going straight through the Solar system, in 2430, humanity, seeing its chance, buried all the hatchets, and made their way to scavenge the wrecks for technology humanity only had in their dreams and stories, it took over a century to crack the powers of the Jump Drive, but they did it. The UNE and MP eventually united to form the USR and constructed the first faster-then-light spacecraft in 2537.
The Columbus was the first ever FTL spacecraft ever built by humanity, and it set off on its maiden voyage to Alpha Centauri (the nearest star system to Sol), on March 7th, 2538, 7:56:34 PM SET, The Columbus warped, and at 7:56:35 PM SET, it had confirmed to have arrived at Alpha Centauri in one piece, 12 hours later, it returned to sol, so beings the Human Interstellar Empire
The first sentient species humanity met was the Conetheans, a species of tall, avian humanoids with slightly more advanced tech, first contact was made on December 16th, 2578. with extreme language barriers, a basic language was established, a simplified form of Morse code, a lot of the time, symbols got mixed up, leading to the First Interstellar war, also known as the Coneth-Sol wars, in 2604 this was actually WAY less bad than the previous space wars fought by Humanity, with casualties on both sides only numbering in the tens of thousands, instead of the tens of millions. Humanity expanded and expanded throughout the local area and met more and more species, leading up to 2750 and the Sol-Pyrin wars.
