So was on a little vacation and found a pretty good used book store. I found a couple books that I wanted so was pretty happy.

While looking through the books I thought, what book would be "the find" for you?

I stumbled upon my "big find" at a Half Price Books. It's the complete and uncut edition of Stranger in a Strange Land. I had no idea it even existed! I was very squee.

As I was looking at the books I realized I was not sure what mine would be.

I did pick up Tiagana and The Dispossessed.

I once found old issues of Galaxy magazine that had the serialized versions of some of the early Amber novels by Roger Zelazny. Sure, I already had the novels -- all of 'em -- but these were first printings, and the synopses that went with parts 2 and 3 of each one in the magazine issues had important information. (Florimel is blonde. Zelazny says so in the synopsis of part 1 of Nine Princes, with no ambiguous 'color somewhere between clouds at sunset and the edge of a candle flame in an otherwise dark room.' For some reason, whether she's blonde or a redhead is a topic of debate amongst some fans of the series... and I like having proof that I was right all along. )

I love used book stores.
