Hi everyone. :)

Yesterday I realised that I needed to be part of some sort of writing community, did a search, found your community and "voila!".

I guess that I should introduce myself fully - so here are all the boring details.

My real name is Greg Long, but I've had the online nick of SoulThief since 2000.

I'm 54, live down-under in Sydney, and work as a computer programmer. I've been interested in writing my entire life, having written an appalling 113 page fantasy novel at the age of thirteen. Since then I have been trying to perfect my fantasy writing (read: mostly procrastinating with bouts of manic typing interrupted by self-doubt, disillusionment and despair). In 1988 I won an award at University for writing a short fantasy piece about Celtic Gods. In the mid-1990s I wrote a few magazine articles about computers. In 2001 and 2002 I had a couple of textbooks published on the subject of Management (they were even taught in college!). More recently I had a Star Trek:TNG piece published in an anthology called "Outside In Makes it So" and a short horror story called "Eighteen Steps" in an online magazine called Thief that seems to have ceased to exist. The biggest impact upon my writing was the birth of my daughter in 2004 which led me to a manic focus upon my computing career and earning money. This was then followed by some "life events" (eye operations, workplace redundancy, relatives dying, etc). At last my life has settled back into pleasant tedium. I can afford to be creative. :)

By the way, I write a blog at my site where I discuss all manner of things including my other hobbies - digital art and travel. When the system lets me post a link I will do so.

I am keen to get to know everyone.

regards

Greg

Hail and well met SoulThief
Good to have you here.
You have been busy
Hope you enjoy Mythic Scribes as much as I do.
"Life events" usually suck, so congrats on getting through them.

Yep - I would advise people to avoid "Life Events" as much as possible. They do indeed suck. :)

Nice to meet you! Well done on receiving an award on that story . And thank you for the high rating on my humble cover art .
