An Introduction with Riddles

Hello, I'm Richard, I'm sadly not a real squire, though I am a (narrative) poet who can make a formidable upside-down cake and, as you may have noticed, I'm none too good at introductions, so I'm going to try leaving some riddles for people instead, which is basically the same thing, right? Right?!

1.

Shall I guard your face?
Or shall I guard behind?
For only one can well be done
And what you leave is for the sun
Who surely won't be kind.

2.

Heat of the noose, heat of the noose,
No good, to be sure, if too tight or too loose
And in summer, I trow, t'will be of no use.

3.

Cylindrical compression
For flattened confections
Back and forth, forth and back
Though a self-thwarting shambles
If flour you lack.

Howdy Squire, welcome here.

Thanks for the riddles. Ill think on them later.

Not sure if Sir Richard is coming back.

My guesses.

1. A baseball cap

2. A Necktie

3. A cookie cutter.
Gah, sorry, took my eye off the ball, so to speak, and I missed this. I will say you have one right and two wrong but I'll not say which ones are which.

A brief search has showed me the spoiler tag feature so I can be slightly less insufferable going forward.

You're right with one and three, however shoelaces remain useful in Summer.

I figured people might go barefoot in summer.

I did not think you were coming back, and no one else seemed to want to answer, so...I passed on the spoiler tag.

2: Maybe a scarf?
