As mentioned, my friend did edit it. She actually edited it for a year and a half. I didn't say all fast writing was bad. It was directly related to her participation in National Writers Month. To each his/her own.

It's impressive. It's unusually presented and draws the eye. That's the point of a cover, to draw the attention and thereby make the reader want to see what's in the book.

I'd say do it whatever way seems right to you. I consider critters of all kinds sentient. To me butterflies are people too.

I'm not as familiar with William as you are. I remember the William Tell Overture and the story of the guy shooting the apple off of his head. In any case it probably was not a pleasant experience.

Where I live people still hunt with bows and arrows. Someone shot one of our local wild turkeys with an arrow. It penetrated his intestines, and they hung out and trailed behind him. The poor thing hid in the bushes. It's an incredibly cruel way to hunt. So this popped into my mind.
