    Gay/ Lesbian Protagonist/ Antagonist???

Though I've been mia a bit, I have read this thread with great interest. In my other authorial guise, I have spent the past six years writing and publishing gay (m/m) romance. A lot of my stories fall into the fantasy genre, and as a reader, I devour any books with GLBT main characters. My...

    Using Profantasy: Campaign Cartographer 3

The learning curve isn't that bad, to be honest. Once you acquaint yourself with the tools and such, the program is pretty easy to use. My map that I posted in the Maps thread here (World Building forum) was done with autoRealm. I've done several maps over the years with it, and frankly, I'd be...

    A question on POV

I've read and written several different POV styles, and each has its merits and downfalls, I think. It also depends on the story (for me, anyway). I've read some novels where the transition from one POV to another was in-scene and smooth, and it worked beautifully, and I've read novels that...

    Using Profantasy: Campaign Cartographer 3

I've heard of it, but never tried it. I stumbled on it much the same way you did. I swear by autoRealm, personally, for mapmaking, and then I color using Paint.net (another free/open source program).

    Diablo 3

I'm desperately (and not so patiently) waiting for D3. Having been a Blizzard player for a while, I'm quite used to their habit of moving back dates, but it doesn't make it any better. O.o I'd be playing D2 and maybe even D1, but they don't run right on Windows 7.

Anybody care to share their map?

Thanks! I toyed with various colors for the sea/oceans, but finally settled on something that didn't drown out (no pun intended) the rest of the map. Mapmaking in and of itself can be highly addictive.

Anybody care to share their map?

It's a work-in-progress, but here is my map of Aracea. Hopefully this link will work. I haven't used Flickr before, believe it or not. Aracea_Basic | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

    Hello there

Thanks so much for the warm welcomes! I managed about 300 words written today, and while that might not seem much, it's more than I've written in quite a while. I'm also nearing completion on my world map. Haven't placed any major landmarks (cities, ruins, etc), but I have the basic geography...

    Your Writing Station

Usually I write on my laptop and reserve the desktop for gaming and mapmaking. Here lately, though, the muse has only responded to pen and paper. I go through more pens and notebooks than my schoolage kids. Ellian

    Hello there

After several years of enduring an awful inner critic, I am officially embarking on my dream of becoming a fantasy author. I'm not new to the publishing world, but this dream is in a different direction than my previous works. Personally speaking, I live in Maryland with three kids, a husband...
