Best console RPG of this generation?

As much as I love The Elder Scrolls series (and have for years) a lot of people find those games overwhelming. Its an acquired taste I think.

Monsters, and other things that inhabit your worlds

I'm just the opposite. I want to use as many humanoid races as I can. I can't think of creative creatures as well as I can create races - I just run into walls with them.

    Thor

Honestly I'm surprised at how good it was with how frankly shallow all the aspects were, as you all of have mentioned. I think a good amount of that credit goes to an amazing cast (I don't think they could've cast a better Thor) and a great director.

Best console RPG of this generation?

Even though I didn't vote for it I'm glad to see Dragon Age in the top spot. It was a good experiment and a well-told story; I just happened to favor the combat mechanic of Mass Effect. Although I personally think the upcoming Elder Scrolls will be a serious game changer.

How did you discover Mythic Scribes?

The world's easiest Google search led me here. "Creative Writing Forum." Bam.

Naming a Character - An Alternative Technique

Ah man, my name actually is Evan; I never thought of it as a particularly evil name. I've always had a horrible problem with being unable to break out of naming groups. Like, if I have a civilization based on the early catholic crusades I have a lot of biblical names. Its a bad habit.

    Dragon Age 2 Expansion

I think Starkhaven is totally conceivable, especially if you factor in The Exiled Prince DLC and the immense changes your 'welcoming' could go through because of your choices regarding Sebastian; something that mad is right up Bioware's alley.

Monsters, and other things that inhabit your worlds

At one point I had created a compendium of all sorts of beasts. My desire was to have every beast in myth represented in my world. I quickly grew to realize that was a little too much. My main "supernatural" entities are beings referred to as 'celestials' who are the servants of the gods; each...

    Brick by brick

I've come across a strange tool that I've been using to work around writer's block. LEGOs. I don't know if its because I work with kids or what; I have this strange connection with these wonderful plastic people that allows me to act out and extrapolate situations from my imagination, in...

    Encyclopedia of Ideas

I use a similar concept to keep track of the ideas I come up with while not actively brainstorming or writing; its a simple stream-of-consciousness word document that I go over once a week to see if anything is usable. If anyone hits writer's block let me know, I may have something buried there...

    When to awaken magic abilities?

You could link it to his fall; as he becomes more and more impulsive and brash he becomes more powerful and he has to learn to temper it to reach a true potential.

    Inventing a Religion

I think you need to consider the amount of integration with the state your faith has, if any. Where in the general power scheme does it fall? To transcend the idea of good and evil you can align your gods on more complex concepts like emotions or ideals. That's part of one of my first...

    Hey guys, I'm Jester.

First off can I just say how utterly unexpected it was to have this name available? I am totally blown away. Anyway, my name is Jester and I am addicted to redoing my work over and over again. I’m hoping registering here will help that. What drew me here was the world building section so you’ll...
