Hopefully, not all !?! at once.
I've heard that nowadays, this is looked down upon.
However, each time I read a book, if I read:
"Get out of here!" or
"Get out of here," he yelled, or
"Get out of here," he smashed the door.
Well... The first one is the one that's going to yell at me.
Hi! :)
I'm also writing a story with 3-4 MCs. I began the story with one of them who was initially the protagonist, but in time, the other characters appeared and gained great significance almost to the same level as the initial protagonist.
What I do is I change the POV depending on which...
What a beautiful thread!
Last week, I had minimum progress on my getting stuck at the mid-point of my story, but! I kept my focus on it.
I discovered two major plot holes in my earliest chapters, and I had to delete (hide in a folder) the latest ten chapters as my characters had gone... out of...
So, all of your magic is elemental magic. I have a few questions about it.
When you say "elemental magic," do you mean fire-earth-water-air?
You said that the environment affects (decides?) what magic is mostly used (do I understand this correctly)?
Can you give a specific example? I can figure...
If this is how their personality is, then simply stay true to that character and portray them as is. You can, of course, have other characters cut them off because they already know X and Y and can't keep up with listening to a broken record.
Thank you for the tips.
As I write my first book, it's also my first time building a world on such a large scale.
Recently, I realized I was so caught up on getting my characters to X destination that I completely disregarded parts of the world building in order to get them there faster. But...
I absolutely love the story that I'm writing, but I've never read a dark fantasy book before. I always believed that I can't stand heavy concepts in storytelling.
I guess, all I have to do now is pick a dark fantasy book and find my new favorite kind of stories.
I feel like this question was branched out to several different questions, and I don't know which one to answer.
1. Even while I was at work, if a random idea popped in my mind, I always had a small notebook and a pen to write it down. Then, went I went home, I organized my notes to wherever...
Hm...
Can this God read minds? Perhaps the protagonist could somehow overpower their brain activity? :ninja: (I have no idea; it's just the first thing that came to my mind)
Is there perhaps a potion/item that can prevent a God from healing? Or a weapon that can mortally wound a God?
To be honest, one third of my story takes place in the darkest part of the world. The world is divided in two parts: One part prohibits magic and punishes Witches by death. The other part of the world doesn't have this law. They don't have laws. Period.
Crime goes unpunished. Gangs control each...
I would say, do what works best for you. In my world, I've created completely fictional kingdoms, etc, but I've kept some information from our real world, such as having a colder climate in the northern and southern part of the world.
If you want to go overly creative, you can take the base of...
Hello!
Since there are divinities in your world, I would definitely analyze their myths - at least, as much as this is needed. Mythology can get very complicated, very fast, and it will be a shame to spend an endless amount of time on something that may not play much of a role in your story at...
