I had an unintentional theme pop up in one of my WIPs. Overcoming prejudice and all that jazz. I didn't even realize the theme was there until I read through the first draft and all the subtext smacked me in the face. It was so glaring and obvious--I can't figure out how I missed it for so long...

I use Seventh Sanctum too from time to time. It's pretty legit. Should solve your problem in no time. I usually find a few I like and mix them together until I have something I like.

The chapters in my first book ran between 1500 and 2000 words, while the chapters in my second book were usually 2000-3500. I don't really aim for any set length, though--it's all about how long it takes me to present the information I need to give. My only real rule is not going over 6000...
