Looking forward to Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim?

Wow..... it looks set to blow Oblivion completely away. With Elderscrolls games, I usually enjoy just starting off and hiking the entire perimeter of the main landmass before I do anything else. I'm going to enjoy my fieldstomp through this one.

    Your Writing Station

I used to also use a gaming PC in conjunction with pencil and paper. I now use paper along with a laptop. It allows me to roam to different areas of the house as I see fit, and I usually play an MMORPG while I write. Up to this point I'm still a short story writer and have the luxury of not...

    Combining genres

Stephen King constantly adds poetry and song lyrics into his stories.... and he's been known to sell a few books. I always find myself having to "double back" and reread the poem or lyrics in order to grasp the relevance to the main story. It doesn't bother me as a reader if I can read the poem...

Is Fantasy really doomed to die?

Fantasy will never die, but the definition of what designates a piece of writing as fantasy will evolve. It's like the conversation batted around in gaming circles, "what defines an RPG?" You could take almost anything that is not written as non-fiction and call it fantasy. A western novel is as...

Have you been impacted by the Great Recession?

We run a bike shop. Ironically, when the economic crap hits the proverbial fan, bike shops do really well. Bicycles are largely recession-proof. They can be used as an affordable means of transportation in times of need.... which we are seeing more of this year, and can be used recreationally to...

    When did you know?...

I was always plied with books when i was a kid. I was also given plenty of drawing pads and pencils. I liked to draw and also write stories. I suppose that it was the old method of escapism, pre-videogame era.

Best book that you were given as a child?

My favorite gifts as a child were always the books. Christmas day would be winding down and I would nestle in a chair with my new treasure trove of stories. Most memorable? Easily the Hardy Boys book number one, The Tower Treasure. I am now an adult, and still have a hardcover copy of that book...

    Hello

Aye, Xanados..... I am partial to the minstrel that would play heavier music. I have been known to take up my own bass and create noise to rival the thunder of the heavens.

Best console RPG of this generation?

I've finished several on the list, but count me as one of the "sickos" who love Demon's Souls. The high degree of tension and the need to be constantly on guard is a real thrill. Becoming comfortable with epic failure is the most difficult part of the game, without a doubt. It'll show you just...

    Dungeon Siege 3

I can recommend Dungeon Siege-Throne Of Agony for the psp. Great looking hack n' slasher in a fairly large world, although it is easy to get lost if you play it casually.

Looking forward to Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim?

I'm most certainly looking forward to the release of Skyrim. As a rule, I love Bethesda's works. However, Johnny-Come-Lately that I might be, I've only just bought and started to play Fallout 3.... and it just isn't grabbing me at all. I think that it's just the whole "sameness" of the...

    The Fable Series

I agree with the original poster. The way I see it is that Peter Molyneux really had to work hard to bring something new to the console RPG table. I remember all of the talk and preview that led up to the release of Fable. The list of unique features had us salivating. Once Fable was seen as a...

    Hello

Well met, fellow scribes. I am Metalfist, appreciative of epic battle, strong ale, and a tale well told. I myself am partial to the writing of the short story. I favor fantasy that stretches the definition of the genre. There may very well be nary a dragon or sword in the tales that I might...
