Muddle Puddle and the Whistling Shell

It's been a while since I posted anything and I do not really have an excuse except the common one of being busy. I post now to inform that my publisher is going to print with the first of the Muddle Puddle series. We investigated numerous ways of getting there including Amazon's nascent...

Ask me about archery, longbows especially.

The conversation on this thread has again piqued my interest and I again find I wish to contribute my three penny worth. The debate of whether modern bows are more deadly than their ancestors depends in practice totally on the archer. To illustrate I once knew a dart player whose party piece was...

Ask me about archery, longbows especially.

Fire at a wall at an angle and the arrow will usually bounce off quite often in pieces. :0

Sorry folks, in case any one noticed I've been offline because of a crashed and burnt PC and I've missed being able to interact. My publisher has given me the use of a machine in the office so intermittently I'm back. When my computer whizz of an eldest son gets around to visiting I'll be back...

So is most self-published material poorly edited?

Write, rewrite and rewrite again. Tell me about it. The first version of "Muddle Puddle" was written nearly thirty years ago, there have been a lot of words and illustrations from my pen since then. This first edition on itunes was always intended as testing the water, the second edition, if...

So is most self-published material poorly edited?

My own "Muddle Puddle" received its first review on itunes yesterday (apparently it is frowned on to put a link here so if anyone fancies taking a look you'll have to go via my profile). "So what," I hear the cry. The point is I know it seems to be the accepted practice to stack reviews up by...

    Salutations!

There has been some discussion about reviews in "So is most self published material poorly edited?" in "Publishing". I think most people here would admit that they need more of them, myself included. I've just put an illustrated novel into Apple's bookstore and it's suffering from a distinct...

    Salutations!

I'm 60 and its great to find a place to talk about a lifetime hobby, you're never too old to do a Monty Python and "now for something completely different" this is a great place to talk to those with the same problems.

:( I've never thought about having a user name, I suppose the Grumpy Druid would be most applicable except it sounds like a pub not a person.

    Hi, new writer here

Welcome and have fun, this is a great place to share your ideas and find out about how others have dealt with the frustrations.

So is most self-published material poorly edited?

Precisely my point, it does not matter how you put it out there, if it's any good people will take notice.
