I agree, I have these goals myself when I write. I think the only real way you can say for example the appealing character Is to write it like someone you want to know or if you write them off yourself then how you want to see yourself. Well that is what I do. as for the others all I can really...
I honestly love the Norse myths and base a lot of my writing off it. i honestly have not seen it used in that concept before but there are stories out there which use the Norse gods in a modern day time. but i would love to see your idea go ahead :)
Hi :) i am way in the same boat as you, i have about 10 wips and i can't stay on one for too long which sucks my main one is the first in a trilogy but its already complete i am just editing it but i cannot just keep writing it i have to swap as i get to many ideas too easily. but the thing is...

i can see the reason behind both ideas of not having it and having it. if your post id way off topic or doesn't meet requirements then i can see why they would just delete it, if you wanted to edit i would think why post something like that in the first place. but on the other hand, it would be...
i just use the names i think of, some i use from current times or past but most are names i have made up that sound really cool. like they mean so much more. i use names like Taro, Raein etc.
i don't think it matters if they were used in D&D doesn't mean they can't be used. i think most books have an element from every game/story already done, just need to make it yours. i couldn't really read tolkein apart from the hobbit, i might need to try to read it again. the way he did it was...
