    My Cover Art

Thank you Aklian. Each of my covers for the Gifts of Vorallon trilogy show a pivotal scene from their relative book. In the case of The Lord of Vengeance there is actually a great deal more going on in the relevant scene of the book. I mocked it up in dozens of ways but it was always way too...

The Final Warden - my debut novel

To help promote the Final Warden, and the whole Gifts of Vorallon trilogy, I have declared May, 'Demon a Day' month. Each day in May I will draw a different demon from the story and post it on my blog. Here is a sample Demon that snuck in here: To find out more about 'Demon a Day' month, and...

A sampling of my fantasy art

A big round soft edged brush, tap tap tap. An input device with pressure sensitivity is key. The squiggles are are with a small hard edged brush with transparency set to pressure.. I did a layer of orange then an tighter layer of yellow dots and streaks on top.

A sampling of my fantasy art

I am happy with this piece...Lorace dreams of chasing a golden butterfly that bursts into bright gold sparks. This was an hour start to finish. I was quite surprised it went so fast, mostly due to my getting the hand and arm down "just right" in just a few strokes of color. 75% of that hour...

Proposed Cover Design for "Quest; The Road to Falsbad"

From what I am finding out in my research on the subject of covers- A traditional publisher would provide your cover art, and I am sure they could take what you have as the theme -- if it is in their estimate that it would help sell your book. If you are self publishing, or have a smaller...

    My Cover Art

I have a very nice machine at work that I do my personal painting on after hours. And yeah I did these covers at print resolution. I do a lot of motion graphics and that requires a hell of a workhorse machine. I also use a Wacom Cintiq - I think it's the first 21 inch model they made. I use a...

    Busting Beginnings

I throw away beginnings a lot. I am sure part of it is me second guessing myself. My first story had something like five cliches in the opening paragraph: character waking from a dream that was a prophecy. In the very next paragraph they navel gazed to describe themselves. In the third paragraph...

    My Cover Art

Digital painting is painting using the computer software as the artists medium. Here is a demo of a drawing a dragon on youtube. The artist is drawing and painting a dragon in realtime using photoshop and a stylus, an input device held in the hand exactly as one holds a pen or a brush. That's...

    My Cover Art

Had to sign up to check that out. From what I can see, that's all digital painting. Some of it appears painted over the top of photosource, but I see lots of telling brushstrokes. If it were watercolor or pastels there would be textures of the paper underneath--nearly impossible to remove...
