How much time do you take off between projects?

I am almost done writing my third novel (of a 4 book series), and I wondered: how long do you take off between projects? I usually take between a month and three. I find any less time and I'm not ready to jump back in with all my heart and passion. Any more makes me jittery getting started...

    What sets your writing apart?

I would say the thing I am best at is action and humor. Those are the parts that come most natural to me. I struggle with finding unique voices for different characters. I also struggle with being redundant or apologetic because I don't put enough trust in my readers. I think I make excuses...

    Mythic Scribes on Mythic Scribes

Congratulations! Did you self-publish or go traditional? The story sounds pretty interesting.

    Creating Fantasy Creatures

It sounds to be like you've got some really original ideas. I like the city-carrying beasts. I've never heard of that one. In the world I created for my novels, there is only one standard creature that I didn't invent, and that's a dragon. Why? I love freaking dragons. They're awesome. Other...

    Mythic Scribes on Mythic Scribes

I'm down to do some reviews. I've already read Firesoul (and loved it), but I would love to read Flank Hawk. Maybe we'll do a trade? I'll take Map the Dragon's copy when he's done and I'll have one sent out to Terry? Just let me know.

    Hello

Thanks Joe the Gnarled. Hopefully I'll have some good things to say. Dan, good to hear from you. Mistborn is a pretty good series to be reading, but I'll be glad to hear what you think of Dreamworld when you finish.

    What Inspires You?

I don't think I made my point at all. Maybe I was nervous for my first post:) But I meant to say, write everyday. Some days are inspired. Some are not. But every day should add at least a paragraph. I find if I write a paragraph, I'll usually write more.

    What Inspires You?

I kind of agree with both of the major viewpoints. I am inspired by movies, but most of all by reading great authors, both in the fantasy genre and outside of it. But I kind of agree with CicadaGrrl (in a slightly more optimistic sense, perhaps). Sometimes its as easy as reading and you know you...

    Hello

My name is Brian Wood, and I am new to Mythic Scribes. I was referred by a good friend of mine, Frank LaVoie, who goes by Map the Dragon. I'm a Calculus teacher and basketball coach. I recently published my debut novel, Dreamworld, which is a YA Fantasy published through an Independent...
