Zelda but not for dorks

Is there somewhere someone who is writing Zelda-stories that are cool and not for dorks or nerds? Like for the cool guys who like sports and hitting on girls?
Or in other words, Zelda-stories that use real world stuff and ideas in their stories, like sumerian and akkadian and celtic history and myth weaved into their Zelda-story. Manly and with big muscles, where women adore strength and will in men, you know. More grounded in real life myth and esoterica

If you want something like that: write it.

Personally, I think it's a little illogical (not to mention insensitive) to assume that individuals who like Legend of Zelda are "nerds" or "dorks". It's a game, like most others, and the players of the game likely vary in lifestyle and physical form as much as with any other game. I have known many players of LoZ that I wouldn't describe with either of those two slightly disparaging words you used. This post implies that your "definition" of masculinity is quite limited.

Dictionary Definition:
Nerd (noun): a person devoted to intellectual, academic, or technical pursuits or interests.
* this definition doesn't say a person can't be physically fit, athletic, or simple takes care of their physical form.
Dork: (noun): and odd, socially awkward, unstylish person.
* being socially awkward is usually not a conscious thing, it can be overcome. Unstylish only means they don't wear "stylish" clothes; which could be more about not having any money, than about personal choice. As for odd; well, this world needs odd people as they often have a unique way of thinking that the "average" (I hate the word normal because there is no such thing as a "normal" person) person just can't comprehend. All in all, dorkiness can be fixed.

There is also no implication in the definition of "dork" that implies they don't take care of themselves, or can't be the athletic (the more "traditional masculine") type.

I have tried before, and failed. I have also speculated on the plot-line, but it was very generic.

I think they find it hard to express emotion. The look on his face screams autistic. He searches for Zelda, and makes it an adventure too soon.

The mask is there to transform him. The bottle there to give him mana and health. He finds his way around if he crawls into stones.

His notebook shows him all his achieved tasks, missions and side-quests. His map gives him the location of all dungeons.

He is god-like in warrior aspect, there to serve as myth or legend, not to entertain or peruse.

Yes, terribly insensitive. Shame on me, immature boy-man! (Irony)

I wrote one now but I am a terrible writer and I don't have the patience to write long stories

Zelda came around after my video gamer days. I've seen it enough, but I've no interest in writing in their universe, or to produce fan fic. My kids liked it enough, so maybe one day they will get the bug to write. But...If they ask me, I would say to make up their own stuff, and let those who own Zelda worry about making their own stories...but that is just me.

I think I would have enjoyed it when I was young, but I dont know if I will ever get into that universe now that I am older.

I have to by a gaming console to do it too...which I think on often, but I think I will go for PS and not Nintendo.

PS: If the worst that ever happens to me is I get called a dork, I'll be doing okay.

Just to point out, this is a false dichotomy. There aren't any rules that nerds or dorks can't like sports or hitting on girls. Or that cool guys can't be nerds.

As a self-confessed nerd (I've studied physics, I love astronomy, and I work in IT), I also like sports. I regularly go sports climbing and run half-marathons. To be fair, my hitting on girls days are a bit behind me now that I've been happily married for 12.5 years...

As for the answer, I'm sure there are people who write that. You can find pretty much anything you can think of written somewhere. There is bound to be a lot of Zelda fan-fic out there. I'm not sure where though, so there's that.

Just out of curiosity, but how old are you?

I played through the original Link's Awakening on the GameBoy. Which was fun (and one of the few games I actually managed to complete). Though I never felt that I had to dive into the Zelda universe. It was just another adventure game (though a good one). I keep thinking I need to get the new ones on the Switch. Maybe this year. The kids are just about old enough to start playing it...

Why I ask about Zelda is because it has a very basic setup: an adventurer/hero of a small village in a large forest, somewhere a princess, and magic to be discovered. It doesn't really have any story more than that. Fan fiction for e.g. Star Wars already has fixed frames. Zelda doesn't even have a magic systemö. Some imaginative writers could make some very interesting things out of it

Zelda's version
Now I am looking for him to realize that Link is a better name, or that he is given that name somehow.

Funny how nerds don't have any humour!

Then write short stories... no need for novel-length, or some three book epic series. It could be three pages so long as it goes from start to middle to end.

Any zelda fan who says Zelda is for dorks clearly isn't a zelda fan. Anyone who questions if they are a dork for liking Zelda (or any series, really) worries too much about what others think about them or their interests.

I would say the same thing about someone questioning this about ANY fandom, including pokemon. You want to write a My Little Pony X Halo crossover, I might jokingly ask for whatever it is you're smoking but I'll also say go for it. I've seen weirder stuff, and said stuff has been genuinely good.

I'm currently thinking of tackling a project that is for Pokemon, that is 100% NOT intended for the littles, but it's still 100% pokemon. Thing is, I'm tryina write it both for the Teens/Adults, AND the Littles, so I have to be extra careful narratively.

I'm assuming you want to do the same with your Zelda story and I say go for it, but bear in mind Zelda has a very specific feel, if you can nail that feel while also writing the story you want to write, then Zelda fans are sure to love it. I'm also writing a somewhat different Zelda story but it still has everything Zelda normally has in it.

I'm extra wary of my Pokemon story because of the subject matter (It goes a bit into both the positives and negatives of Genetic modification, hence it not being fully intended for the littles to read. The protagonists are a bit older than usual too.) but this story has been taunting me for ages and I think I want to give it a go.
