Has someone ever missed your point when chatting online (Besides here) ?

Just had a rather silly conversation.

Other Person: Sneaking in Elder Scrolls Oblivion sucks, should I be wearing lighter armor?
Me: I mean Ninjas weren't exactly plonking around in Full Plate armor...
Other Person: Ninja's ain't real.
Me: Well...yes and No, but that's not the point...

Yes, its like how I say to my cat, you know, you are making it very hard to get any work done, and he just keeps right on laying on me so I cant reach the keyboard.

Constantly and catastrophically. I had a conversation just recently where I wanted to strangle two people. And it was a local group so if I really wanted to I probably could have.

better than walking ON the keyboard. or playing with the cords, or....other cat stuff.

oh no, that sounds awful lol I've had moments in games like that. Me: [enjoying game] Me: [fails at game] [glares at devs] If I would punch you I could. I probably wouldn't literally. But I hope you understand my rage! lol

In my case I kept asking more and more precise versions of the same question and kept being given the exact same vague answer. But that might have been more down to the people I was chatting with... we'll never know!

Sounds like classic IT / Pharmacy assistant (I wish I was joking cause eaugh) on the phone.
On one hand I want to forgive them, they're just doing their job, but WHY lol
Basically any kind of phone based customer service too...or anything involving those dumb AI 'helper' bots. (like for best buy and stuff, they give them names, but it doesn't make them any less AI)

Hey, watch it, I work in IT and often give phone support. Of course, people pay a lot for my support, and you do get what you pay for.

But oh god speaking of getting what you pay for and those aweful AI phone bots? So I spent 40 minutes on the phone trying to get past the trully terrible one Dell just rolled out. The entire ticket went tits-up and I ended up having a conversation with Dell's Enterprise Support Quality Assurance Team. I told the guy straight up "Look, the company I work for spends tens of millions of dollars with Dell annually, we expect better treatment than a terrible AI phone bot." And went on to explain that we previously could call a number, input a pin, and be instantly connected to a human being.

The response? "We are working to make our AI phone bot better at identifying enterprise customers". Yeah. Talk about commically missing the point.

Depends a lot on who answers the phone. Also notably on how exhausted they are at the time and what their home life is like. lol I did not mean to offend. ^+^;

Love when companies invest in AI but they roll it out WAY before it's ready to perform as intended because of (AI Product) FOMO.
The AI trend isn't going to slow down any time soon guys. Please for the love of god spend some time making it good!

Minecraft Turned a Forgotten Character from ages ago into an AI bot. It was hilarious how bad she is. I don't know if it's changed since then. But you could ask her anything about anything related to Mine Craft and she'd say either:

A: Your question contains no content related to mine craft, consider rephrasing.
B: Your content contains content that violates our content rating policies, consider rephrasing.
C: I don't Know.

I mistake avatars as AI. Sometimes they know too much, it is the only reasonable answer, then facepalm.

I love it when reception takes on the same identity and ethnicity, and say exactly the same thing they said last time.

The correct answer is the only one, so what, you have to wait an hour of elevator music, who cares?

I think we can all agree AI has no use in any creative spaces.
Or customer service, especially with medical companies.
AI is only funny when asking it for goofy youtube video ideas lol
There's a pretty funny story generator where you punch in the required things (Main character names, Mc Guffin etc) and it generates a random story.
But I would never use that thing unironically, mostly for shits and giggles.
