So this plot bunny started as an idea for a Dragon Quest Fanfiction.
But, with some very minor tweaks (And filing off the serials like calling the protag 'luminary' )
It could do pretty well as it's own unique thing, I think.
It's a story about how the person the goddess of the story chooses the son/daughter of the Demon Lord to be the Hero. (I am undecided if I want them to be a man or a woman yet)
The Protagonist is unaware of his/her origins (Until the first fight with the Demon Lord) but most of the party catches on pretty quick. But then at least one of the party members properly works for the Demon Lord. Despite this, she gets tired of getting trounced by 'heroes' (Hero is in quotes because not every protagonist/good guy is cut from a 'good guy' cloth) every generation of them and wants to switch sides, the other party members join for similar reasons. Not all of them actually work for Demon Lord, they come from similar backgrounds though.
That being said, I still want Dragon Quest to be the... 'model' if that makes sense?
Similar vibes/atmosphere different sauce/spices is the way I'd put it.
Also no worries about me starting on this thing any time soon. I intend to finish one of my original fictions first, hopefully by the end of the year as that was my new years resolution for this year. (just the rough draft)
