A few of my works

Mans

Minstrel
I don't wish to stand out because my works are not related to a writing forum. However, since I have nothing to do now, and there is also a chit chat topic here, I am sharing some of my 3D works for fun.

I have worked with AutoCAD for 6 years, CATIA for 4 years, and Rhino for 4 years. Currently, I only work with Rhino, and these objects are designed using this software.

I used to write the documentation for a CAD company called Ashlar (now Ashland Vellum) that developed designed wireframe and 3D software. The 3D software was called Vellum Solids when I left there in 2000.

I have not heard about the software, Ashlar (Ashland Vellum). I am going to search the internet to see what it is.

I try to keep it book-related on the computer side, working in Photoshop and InDesign (I worked in Quark after college laying out medical books). Otherwise, I love hands-on projects even if I cuss my through them, heh heh. I used to do more work with wood, and stuff found lying about. Mostly practical stuff. The coolest thing I ever cobbled up was a helmet made from a horse's pelvis. It slipped over the head with "wings" of bone in the back, and the sockets worked for eyes. Someday, I want to recreate that with a copper skullcap. But I have nothing cool to show off.

3D printing is my dream toy right now. I friend of mine at Arizona State gets to play the University's toys... I'm jealous.
What other kinds of work do you do, aside from writing? I am interested to hear a few :)

I see some experts in woodcraft on the McNeel website. It is a website of the developers of the great engineering software, Rhinoceros (Rhino), and I think you can exchange experiences with those woodcraft specialists (and ordinary woodworkers) who work with Rhino and create their projects with CNC machines. Some others create their projects with 3D printers.

I did join McNeel forum 3 years ago

We have some 3d printers at my work, but I have never used one.

I did once order some figs from Heroforge, which I know are 3d printed, and I want to say...its amazing. Somehow that 3d printer thing got detail in areas of the figure where I cant even get a superfine paint brush in. I dont know how it could do that. Maybe with a laser.

I haven't actually seen a 3D printer yet, but I have seen it on the internet and I almost know how it works.

Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube, google play, Whatsapp, Viber, Telegram, Wechat, netflix, Skype, TikTok, Threads, WordPress are filtered here.

These are the famous ones, but so many other websites that I don't know them such as reddit, flikr and so on are filtered as well.

I think, half of the websites in the world are filtered here (really) LOL

Sounds like you are in Russia.

Were you able to watch the video I posted?

Mans

I really don't know. I most often have to ignore watching a video due this problem.

You need a VPN. (But not if it means the government will come after you....)

I have never used a blocker breaker or a VPN. I have never tried to step out of the red line, although I have needed YouTube technical videos and information intensely. In fact, I follow my government's decisions, even though it creates some limitations for me.

The story of filtering started when some websites began offering explicit videos. At that time, there was no supervision, firewall, or control against such harmful and even dangerous unethical content.

At that time, the internet was a new thing and not well understood. People focused on its positive aspects but overlooked the presence of harmful content, like venomous snakes, that was prevalent throughout the internet. Everywhere people looked, they encountered titles and headlines promoting explicit content, such as "Sexy - the best sexy movie - watch porn - naked..." on Google. These sources were horrible and truly dreadful.

Afterwards, political and security attacks began to spread negative propaganda against the targeted countries.

Gradually, the officials of the societies and countries woke up and realized the danger of corruption, and they began filtering harmful websites.

Of course, some websites like YouTube that had every type of useful and harmful content were filtered due to their partially bad content, inevitably.

Getting rid of the termites by burning down the house.

Sounds like your society has serious internal social problems.

Mans

As a philosopher, I have a better solution: eliminate termites before they damage outfits.

This means preventing harmful contents, before they turn people into zombies.

Not much. Just like other societies, but slightly more due to the unfair Western economic sanctions.
