Dreaming

Myth Weaver
I am not sure exactly what I would do, but I might just say...At night, he dreamed....

I might consider putting the whole dream in italics.

Dreamer
If it's a normal dream state in a modern setting, I think I would go with the age old fall asleep, dream, wake up. Beginning, and ending the dream is not the best experience, but narrating, or however you will, the dream is one hell of an experience.

Surreal and disjointed, play with logic, start in the middle, even, dreams never make sense. Short, fragmented sentences is what I prefer, occasional run-on sentence.

EDIT: Does the character wake up right after the dream? If so, why? Was the dream bad? Does the character remember the dream completely, or is it fragmented and hazy?

Dreams? Go wild, melt the rules, mix up time, and throw in some bizarre details that feel just off. For slipping in and out, try fading sensations, like voices echoing or colours bleeding. Maybe even a false wake-up to mess with them. Keep it trippy but controlled, like a weird movie montage.

I wanted something like it really happened but you still see it but like a random walking along then teleported way
