Allow me to introduce myself. I am an up-and-coming fantasy author looking to share my short stories with a community that appreciates high fantasy fiction. It is my ultimate goal to self-publish a fantasy novel, but without a following it would be pointless to publish. I hope to gain some input from this community.

Good to have you here.
I think it is a Catch 22 or something equally cleaver. To get a following you have to give them something to follow. If you don't publish then few people will be interested. Write, Publish, Repeat. I think Robert Heinlein said that was the method to becoming an Author.
We all write for our own reason. Some want global domination, others to make it their career. Then there are people like me that just do it for the fun of it. I love world-building and thinking of ways of getting all my ideas to fit.
This is a great place to learn and share.
