Hello Everyone...

Looking forward to getting to know new people here. I have to be honest, other than for technical writing I have done none for a very long time. I used to write all of the time, even started a fantasy type novel about twenty years ago, some people that read the first chapter or two were really begging me to continue writing it. Unfortunately I didn't, and over the decades I have lost the original. I am not sure as I could reproduce it, but I am hoping to try. Who knows, perhaps with this great looking forum I may be able to restart it and even end up with something better :D

I am in south Georgia turning 45 later this month, have written a few manuals for software and the like over the years, if you ever ran across a manual that just made you stop and say "why can't all the manuals read like this?" was probably mine LoL....just joking, I haven't written that many just a few and that has been quite a while as well. Not real sure what else to say here, starting to feel like I am writing one of those introduce yourself papers for college class here so I am going to end it here and just say I am really excited about getting to know everyone and hope to get my writing going again.

Ah... the lost manuscript... now is the time to start the myth of what could have been...
I have to write technically too. It is a specialist skill that not everyone has - a lot like being a poet I think [but probably in reverse...].

Hi there CupofJoe, thanks! Nice to meet you. I have been toying with the idea of getting back into creative writing for quite a while now, just have to say okay and actually start doing it now, hopefully I can get some really good motivation and tips from here :)

Welcome! Lost manuscripts are a really good reason to start writing again :)
Maybe if you just try and write out what you remember of it, and then try and write short scenes from that story. They don't need to be in order or complete. The trick is to start writing, and just start somewhere.
Once you get a number of those together, you can sit down and try to re-create the actual thing.
If you need halp or feedback on anything you wrote, do feel free to post stuff in the Showcase and ask questions as much as you like :)

Thanks Guru Coyote :) I have some things going on here that unfortunately are not the best, and have to be addressed but hopefully they are over soon and I can get some time back and do just that. At least that is my plan, will be nice having a place to get some constructive non-biased feed back.
