Hi. I'm working on a sci-fi novel that I'm hoping will be complete by next year. We're also gonna have a new baby and a toddler so it'll be a huge challenge.
It involves a lot of worldbuilding that get incorporated into the plot including, but not necessarily limited to: politics, literature and mythology, technology and how it's shaped the society of the novel, economics, and various races with their own subcultures.
I figured if I joined a world building forum, it would be a good space to get advice, ideas from others, while sharing my own world building ideas.
Edit: it's a character driven space opera. I gleaned a lot of inspiration from Asimov's works and the Dune series, but it's also its own thing, because I can't derive as well as I can make stuff up.
I also thought I'd try out a new forum and stuff, because I was getting sick of feeling like I was constantly screaming into the void, so I thought I'd take a break from large form social media.
