Hello

Good day. Older writer here, starting reading fantasy in the 60s, started writing as a teenager in the 70s. Came close to selling a book, got so far as to have a well regarded agent who tried to sell it to the various large publishing houses at the time, but couldn’t make it go. I did sell several short stories to some very small market mags. Got frustrated and quit for about 30 years, got my creative joys out of music. I’m now retired and back at it. Working on an epic fantasy trilogy, first book is mostly done and has been beta read and critiqued. Books 2 and 3 first drafts are done, book 2 has been revised. Also have completed the first draft and revisions of a novella, which would be used as a freebie for marketing purposes.

The other forum I’m in is filled with folks who spend a lot of time talking about gaming and current events. Looking for a place that doesn’t talk about either. I’m mainly looking for discussions on writing fantasy, and also to expand the number of my critique partners, specifically people like myself who are writing 1 to a few books a year, and want to mutually provide feedback. For now I’ll just lay low, here and see how it all works. I’ll post a few times to get the required 5 posts to see some of the restricted content.

Welcome to the Scribes site Cargoplayer! I hope you'll find the threads and discussions to be inspiring and helpful. They're a bit of a rabbit hole as there are so many to sift through, but starting new ones is always welcomed too.

Best of luck with your books! Sounds as if you've accomplished quite a lot already. :)
