Hey, I’m Skyrodin, or Sky (or Alex, if that’s easier for you), 36 years old, and I’m from the farthest corner of western Germany. English isn’t my first language, but I decided to write my latest project in English because I’m hoping to reach more people with my stories in the end.

I work at a law firm, doing pretty much all the work, while the lawyers get the credit (and the money). :D

I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember, even making up stories for my little cousins when I was younger. The one thing I’ve struggled with, though, is finishing what I start. But I’m finally making progress on changing that!

I’d love to chat more about my projects, but I think that might be a bit much for an intro thread.

When I’m not writing, you’ll usually find me reading or watching movies. I’ve actually been running a movie podcast with a friend for over six years now!

Any questions? I won't bite :D

Hey and welcome to Mythic Scribes, Skyrodin! So happy to have you here.

I'm sure all of us will be more than happy to help you on your journey and help you finish what you started.

making up stories for my little cousins when I was younger.
And I must say, this part is really, really sweet 😁

Okay, now for the questions (Which I hopefully won't get bitten for 😝):
  • What is the name of your podcasts? I'd say I'm pretty big on movies so I'd love to tune in.
  • May I know a bit more about your latest project? This is a writing community, after all.

P.S.: We have another member called Skyfarer who we tend to call Sky, too, maybe you two could get to know each other, or have a duel to the death over who is the better Sky!

CupofJoe Thank you for your welcome :)

Thanks to you as well. I'm still trying to find my way around here but I'm pretty sure I won't take long to settle in.

Now for the answers to your questions...

- My podcast is called "Between the Scenes" and it is available on Spotify. And I think on Apple Podcasts and Google Podcasts as well. I think there could be a tiny little problem though - it is in German.

- My current project is a cozy fantasy novel called "Tea with the Necromancer". Here's the logline: A lonely necromancer lives quietly in a seaside village, brewing enchanted teas that help the dead pass on. But when a cheerful ghost refuses to leave, they begin an unlikely friendship—and uncover the ghost’s unfinished life mission.

And a battle of the Skys... Skies...? sounds interesting :D But people tend to call me many names, so he can keep his, I guess :D I can also go by Skyro.

I like the sound of that! Good luck :)
Not all stories have to be about the fate of empires or the ending of the world [but I guess that could be up to what the ghost unfinished mission may be].

Let's put it like that... The stakes are not as high as the fate of an empire. Not even as high as the fate of the seaside village. The main focus is on "cozy". I don't know if you know Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree - it's comparable to that.

Aww, shucks... Welp, I guess I gotta learn some Deutsch now.

Sounds very lovely, I look forward to reading it. And I do agree with CupofJoe, not everything has to be "end of the world" or "chosen one" or anything 😁

Sure, you shall be called Skyro, my good sir/ma'am, Skyro from Spylanders 😜 (Please get the references).

Howdy Skyrodin. Welcome here.

If you are doing all the work and they are getting paid, you need to stop that and go pass the bar. Let them hire someone new to make you rich instead.
