I was reading two books Lilith by George Macdonald and Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins recently, and came across a thought. How do I represent good clean fun in a serious context?
The book I am writing contains a sentient race whom are trying to contemplate origin. They create a synthetic race to help them, it causes them pain.
I relate the two, because I am thinking of the enemy for the series. A town has lost its leader, so they descend into chaos. A military detachment is sent, and have to find a new leader.
I see a very peculiar hand. I see a giraffe. Giraffes do not just fall from the sky.
