My characters found themselves needing to cobble up a fishing line. They had rope, so I had to figure out how to make the one into the other. This site has a nice article on how to make rope by hand.

There's a ton of articles, and the site appears still to be active.

I thought you were going to refer to the popular youtube channel primitive technology, where a half naked man makes some rather impressive stuff with little more than stones and wood. Primitive Technology

YouTube mostly just annoys me. Give me text that I can scan, not a sequential presentation I have to sit through in hopes of finding something useful therein. It's thirty seconds of scanning versus ten minutes of sitting.
