There's only one thing I love half so much as watching my novel writing and game developing ambitions headbutt each other to impress the receptive mate that is my quarter-spent mortality. I refer to art: the only art artful enough that you can just call it 'art!'

To be more specific, most are worldbuilding sketches, usually pencil, sometimes colored digitally. My quality fluctuates more than slightly, but generally trends upward at a fairly steep curve. I'll stop writing now and just start with some newer and better pieces.

First of all: Thank you both for the kind words, and for being the first here to follow me!

As for the character, his name is Calthonosis III. He's a scholarly mountain king, and a deceptively jolly fellow with a penchant for hard bargaining and harsh diatribes.

Ooh, what sort of things does he study?

Also, did he braid his mustache or put leaves in it? Either way, it's awesome!

He's mainly a scientific and historical scholar. His biggest focus is piecing together the 'prehistory' of the known world, but he and some of his inner court are also tinkering around with electricity during the events of the first book.

And yes, it's braided. I like to think I'm alright with hair, but as much as I love them braids still give me a bit of trouble.

What is magic like in your world? Or is there no magic?
Magic is technically existent, but only really comes in religious forms. In other words, things like miracles, possessions, conjuring, and more subtle intervention from beyond are possible, but there aren't people just running around shooting elemental bolts out of their hands.

The closest thing to 'fantasy magic' is just the exceptionally rare technological relic. One minor character for example has a tiny rod that can shoot freeze rays, but he can't learn and channel any other 'spells' through it, and anyone else could theoretically just pick it up press the trigger to fire it.

That sounds awesome! Also, all of it is fantasy magic, since it is in a fantasy book, and it's an imagined aspect of the fantasy world.

To be honest, I think I quite prefer that you don't simply go with the boring ol' elemental bolts. They can be good in a pinch, if portrayed in an interesting way, but generally it's cooler to have more creative uses of spells like turning into an ant or creating a rainbow bridge to travel across a continent.

Oh yeah that's right this thread exists doesn't it?

Some giant boring monsters called 'mandagon.' Boring solely as in burrowing, I hope. And no, the top one isn't missing his eye; it's retractable!

Some more of my favorite wholesome doggo, Narri. She's stopping for a little think in the middle of eating a... """snack"""

Some odd monsters called the "moontowers." Not related to my current writing, but consider them concept art for a game I plan to make eventually

A newer and more detailed iteration of Maxie. ...Gosh, I really need to update my cover. Again.
