I am a schoolgirl that has to write an essay about the influence of J.R.R. Tolkien on the fantasy genre, and I would very much appreciate your help! It doesn't matter if you haven't read Lord of the Rings or The Hobbit.
I would like to know what you think is "typical" for fantasy books (dragons, trilogies, many pages... anything that comes to your mind when you think of fantasy books), and how you think Lord of the Rings has influenced fantasy. If you write yourself, how does it influence you?
