What tool to use?

I am interested in newer systems that come out based on code. Cyberdecks using terminal, and other basic scripts, that run programs.

Twine and Inky sound really interesting. It boggles my mind how fast things can change in the metric.

I have Twine and Inky downloaded, but I always get too intimidated when I boot them up.

But it's such an interesting way to tell a story - even if you don't mess with the 'choose your own adventure' potential of it, you can really tweak the pace a reader moves through the story. There's a horror short story, my father's long long legs by Michael Lutz, that uses Twine to great effect.
