Who would you be? (Just for fun?)

But, if you were to live in Ye olde Dungeons and Dragons world, what class would you be?

And why that? Gotto explain.

(I am old school, 1e, and I dont know much about the later editions, but ill accept any class that been in their Player's Handbooks)

Considering how much time I spent trying to make 2E AD&D magic into something with real-world credibility, my first choice would be Wizard. Considering the type of 'magic' I eventually settled upon, Psionicist.

That said, I was a big fan of multi-class characters back in the day, the most prominent of whom was a half-elf fighter/mage/thief.

Yes, I think you would be.

I will kick this one up again. It was meant for weekend fun....

I would almost certainly be a Paladin. I hope that is not surprising to anyone. I strive to be on the good side of things, and am willing to fight over it if necessary, but...I do try to stay in the rules. Keeping fidelity with the rules does not always let me say the thing I might otherwise, but I am not afraid to defend the weak and stand up to the whatever. I seldom bend, but I am open...I just keep seeking what is true. It is elusive. That is the way of it.

PS: Multiclass is allowed so long as it does not break any PH or DMG rules.

Deities and Demigods is not a good source ;) They break a lot of rules in there.

I looked up what the options are and figure druid is appropriate. I am an erudite fellow and care a great deal for the greenery where I live, as well as spending time within it. If I'd have my way, there would only be villages and thorps in Limburg. Cities stymie my spirit.

I would like to say cleric. I always choose healers/support when the choice is there, but I don't know exactly why. I suppose it makes me happy in team-based activities, when I can help others do cool things ... so maybe I do know why? I also probably wouldn't mind devoting myself to a deity/cause.

However, there are other classes in DnD who can heal. In that aspect, I like cleric because of the holy/light visuals, which are themes I adore!
Then there's the fashion - I've never been much for a suit armor, but I find the way clerics are depicted with it (often with some kind of robe on top) is very pretty. Oh, and maces are super pretty too.
And the necromancy option.

Alchemist/Artificer more then likely. Closest they got to a chef that's not a homebrew class. Also, you get to play around with all sorts of things. Though the Pathfinder Alchemist always was better in my mind. Can turn into monsters, make stuff explode and dump all your Wisdom to be the schmott guy who still does ridiculously stupid and dangerous stuff with chemicals and magic.

Also you get to make stuff and as an artificer, why not have an army of little robots to help you out? Or to just tinker on a small scale and make wargame miniatures.

“Devor” was the name of my half-elf bard. It’s a pun, sounds like “the bore,” as in Devor the Boring Bard. I never managed to play an actual game with him.

I figure that says it all. It's already a tiny part of how I see myself.

So far there have been no folks who have chosen the same class, which is somewhat interesting since we are all driven to engage in the same hobby (and for some profession).
